Join Us at Our Table

We encourage a healthy variety of meals for the Guests at the Lincoln Park Community Shelter. For every meal opportunity at LPCS, volunteers are responsible for purchasing and preparing the food, either at home or in the LPCS kitchen.

Breakfast Volunteers make sure our Guests start their days with a healthy and nutritious meal.

  • Monday through Friday breakfast is served at 7:30am.
  • On Sundays, breakfast is served at 8:30am.
  • You can also sponsor a breakfast by purchasing breakfast items and dropping them off the night before.

Hot Lunch Volunteers typically come in on Saturdays to provide a healthy meal for LPCS Guests.

  • Lunch volunteers typically arrive at noon with the meal being served at 1:00pm.
  • This opportunity is also available during the week. Email Jen to schedule a weekday date.

Sack Lunches are provided for Guests who leave LPCS during the day for work and school.

  • This is a great opportunity for kids of all ages to give back to their community.
  • Lunches are dropped off on the assigned day anytime before 8:00pm.

Dinner is served at the LPCS 7 nights a week with volunteer groups preparing a delicious and healthy meal for 40 individuals. Volunteers typically arrive at 6:00pm, with the meal being served at 7:30pm.

  • Cooking dinner is the most popular volunteer opportunity at LPCS so we encourage signing up 6-8 weeks in advance.

CEP Snack Volunteers prepare a snack in our kitchen at LPCS and then deliver the                items to our Community Engagement Program on Sundays. ‚Äč

  • Make chcoolate covered pretzels, bake muffins, or assemble a cheese tray for 30-35                  people.
  • CEP Snack is a great  opportunity for families and small groups.
  • CEP Snack volunteers arrive at 11:30 a.m. and walk items over around 1 p.m.

Meal Inspiration:

We know cooking for a large group of people can seem overwhelming so we have created a Pinterest page full of different recipe ideas that volunteers and LPCS Guests have given two thumbs up to!

You can also check out #LPCSmeals for more inspiration and make sure to post your group's photo when you come in to cook
